03 · Who they are
What this house holds, and what it wants.
The forest under the wall
Esker cut the timber that shores up the parapet and the scaffolds that let masons reach the ice. In return they are the only house allowed to hunt in the old forest.
Their scouts wear white in winter and green in the thaw, and are almost never seen by anyone they are watching.
What they want
To be left alone, and to be paid on time. Rarely both.
