03 · Who they are
What this house holds, and what it wants.
The lake that feeds the wall
The wall is not built. It is grown, one winter at a time, from water that Coldmere’s sluices send up the ice face at night. Without the lake the wall would be a ruin in fifty years.
Coldmere knows this, and everyone knows Coldmere knows it.
What they want
A seat at the head of the council, and they have waited patiently for it for four centuries.
